PMD, Coronaviruses and incognito

Gosh, WHAT a year 2020 is turning out to be. We at incognito® certainly feel more aware and determined to make a positive contribution to the world, than ever before. Having said that we all get our down days and as a relatively small business, 2020 is proving quite a storm to weather.

Many of you have been in touch with us about PMD and the various news reports that the Ministry of Defence (MOD) were testing a PMD based repellent and its effectiveness against SARS-Cov-2, if you missed it, here’s a link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/experimental-survival-of-sars-cov-2-on-an-insect-repellent-treated-surface--3

As we use the purest natural form of PMD available in many of our incognito® products (sprays, roll-on, lotion and sun cream) we commissioned our own third party external testing and it was found that incognito kills all enveloped viruses for 1 hour (including Coronaviruses). This is big news for us, however, as PMD is not registered within the PT1 category, we are unable to add this claim to our biocidal labels which fall under the PT19 category along with any marketing materials for these products.

We hope this clears up this topic for you and do get in touch with us if you have any questions about any of this.

We are delighted to report that some of our biggest retailers are increasing the number of incognito® lines they are putting on their shelves in 2021 so you will see more of us in 2021 than ever before!

As ever, we remain committed to bringing you the best quality natural insect repellent available. Thank you for your continued loyalty to incognito®, we are here to serve and we are honoured to have you with us as we journey together.
